Apple’s New Music Service: Connect, Internet Radio, and Streaming

Apple revealed its new music on Monday. Apple Music is to launch June 30th, entering into a competitive industry. The company has stated that Apple Music will have live internet radio, on-demand streaming, and a program called Connect, which will allow artists and their fans to connect all together in one application.

For one person to use this app, Apple will charge $9.99 a month. However, six family members can come together and use the app for only $14.99 a month. To use the family plan, you will need a iCloud Family Sharing Plan that is active. This is in contrast with Spotify‘s fee of $14.99 a month for only two family members.

According to The Verge, Spotify needs to be worried with Apple Music.

Just like many music streaming programs, the more you use Apple’s new music service, the more it will learn your tastes in music and be able to recommend new songs and artists according to your tastes. And, just like other programs, this one will allow users to download playlists to listen to offline, while non-paying users can listen on-line with limited song skips. The first radio station on Apple’s new music service will be called BeatsOne. Starting out, it will be available in 100 countries and will play music around the clock.

While it wasn’t announced on Monday, Apple says there is at least one other aspect to the service, but that won’t be available just yet. They plan to launch a television streaming service for Apple products users. They hope to launch this service by the end of the year.
